WAMEGO — McPherson High’s Dylan Blosser got in right on the number.
Blosser shot a regional round of 86 on Monday to qualify for the state golf tournament for the third year in a row.
Blosser will compete next Tuesday in the 4A event at the famed Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta as an individual medalist.
Blustery winds sent scores soaring at Wamego Country Club. Blosser shot a front-nine 41 and then hung on for a 45 on the back to earn the fifth-and-final medalist spot. He was 12th overall, as the first five medalists following those players who make it as a team qualifier are accepted.
Topeka Hayden and Buhler shot 339s to share first place and earned the two available team spots. MHS finished fifth with a 374.
Jacob Lackey finished two shots out of the money with an 88. Other MHS scores were CJ Steiner (97), TJ Stites (103), Casey Cheek (105) and Wyatt Porter (115).
No golfer broke 80, as Holton’s Ethan Holoday shot an 81 to earn medalist honors by two strokes over a quartet of golfers.
