The 63rd annual Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships and 34th annual Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships are scheduled for later this week in Gulf Shores, Al.
McPherson College is sending 10 women and eight men to the three-day meet that's set to start on Thursday.
For the Bulldog women, they will be competing in nine different events and have two athletes in both the 100 hurdles and 100 dash. KCAC Athlete of the Meet Sharica Pleasant will look to compete in the heptathlon, five events, as well as the 4 x 100 relay and the 100 dash;.
Joining Pleasant on the 4 x 100 relay that is seeded fifth, are Kaley Kinnamon, Taylor Smiley and Jazmine Alexander, who is also entered in the 100 dash; the alternates are Rea Samuels and Cathy Lowry. Neka Dias will run the 100 hurdles for McPherson.
Arryana Barton will be throwing the shot put as well as competing in the triple jump. She is ranked sixth and 18th, respectively. Fellow field event athletes are Megan Pohlmann, hammer throw, and Dajana Gliesche, long jump.
On the men's side, they are entered in four events with Paul Rotering competing in two, the shot put and javelin. He is seeded 10th in both. Fellow senior Brandon Sherier will run in the 800 and Akim Muhammad is in the 400. The final event for the 'Dogs is the 4 x 100 relay that is comprised of Demetres Greenwood, Perry Joseph, Muhammad and J'Moi Penn. Jawaun Stuart is the alternate.
