The McPherson Advantage Junior Tennis Club programming is about to begin and registrations are due.
The first activity is a free event for all ages of tennis enthusiasts in the community with the Family Fun Rock 'n Rally held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 26, at Challenger's Courts by the McPherson Fire Station.
This carnival atmosphere event will award prizes to all who attend.
The annual tennis camp runs May 27-30, with USPTA professional Trish Buterbaugh from Paradise Valley, Ariz, directing.
The following week begins the eight weeks of instruction, team tennis and tournaments for ages 4-18. The Mac Advantage is a leader in the development of 10-and-under tennis programming and is running nine tournaments for this age level in McPherson this summer.
New this year, the Mac Advantage is directing the Kansas District Qualifier, where top players from across the district will be competing, June 19-21, to be accepted into the Missouri Valley Futures tournament. Additional tournaments for players of every level will also be held here this summer.
"We are celebrating our 20th year by upping the opportunities for our tournament players, but the beginners are not forgotten," said Janie Bremyer, director of the Mac Advantage. "Reaching all youth, regardless of his or her skill level, is our mission and we hope to reach even more potential players this sunmer."
