LINDSBORG — Jeffrey Willis has signed a letter of intent to play men's basketball for head coach Clair Oleen and Bethany College in the 2014-15 academic year.

Willis, from Clermont, Fla., was a two-year starter at East Ridge High School in Clermont. He also played a season at prep school —  the Game on Rise Academy — from August 2013 to May 2014. While at the Academy, Willis averaged 15.6 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game and 4.5 assists per game. He shot 52 percent from the field, 56 percent from behind the arc, and 86 percent from the free-throw line.

"We are pleased to have Jeff choose to attend Bethany College and join our basketball program after a year of prep school," Oleen said. "Jeff comes to us from (Bethany assistant) coach Denver Cobb's home state of Florida as we continue to step up recruiting with his contacts in that area."

Willis is the son of Jeffrey Robert and Michele Willis. He has a 3.4 grade point average and plans to major in Sports Management while attending Bethany College.
