LINDSBORG — Ashley Rasmussen of Thornton, Colo., has signed a letter of intent to play for coach Brett Morehouse and the Bethany College women's basketball program for the 2014-15 academic season.

Rasmussen comes to the Swedes from Horizon High School. The 5-9 forward averaged 3.5 points per game and 3.4 rebound. She totaled 11 blocks, 35 steals and 36 assists in her senior season. She also shot 45 percent from the floor. Rasmussen was a four-year starter at Horizon.

"We are very happy to announce that Ashley Rasmussen will be joining our program in the fall. Ashley is another member of our 2014 recruiting class who played for a highly successful prep basketball program," Morehouse said. "Coming from a large school like Horizon, she understands what it means to compete and what it takes to earn minutes on the court. We look forward to working with Ashley and helping her to continue her development as a student athlete here at Bethany College."

Rasmussen is the daughter of David and Susan Rasmussen. She plans to major in Athletic Training while studying at Bethany College.
