There will be a fundraiser Tuesday in McPherson for Senator Clark Shultz in his bid to become Kansas Insurance Commissioner. Shultz, who filed for the office last week, began serving in the Kansas House of Representatives in 1997 and was appointed to the Kansas Senate during the past session when Jay Emler was tapped for a position on the Kansas Corporation Commission. Shultz served as Chairman of the Kansas House Insurance Committee for nine years. The reception and fundraiser will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at 1524 North High Drive in McPherson. The event is sponsored by the committee to elect Clark Shultz as Insurance Commissioner, Dick Nichols, honorary chairman and Carly Miller, treasurer.
