The McPherson Public Library invites people of all ages to come meet Callie, a therapy dog, on Wednesday, June 11th from 2-3 p.m. Mary Jo Staab will share about the work she and Callie do in local schools.
“There is a great deal of interest every time a therapy or service dog is in the library”, said Jennie Hall, Head of Adult Services. “Mary Jo, a frequent library visitor, generously volunteered to bring Callie on a regular basis through the summer months. It is a win-win situation for all, since we get the chance to offer this great program and Callie doesn’t get too lonely for the school kids while she is ‘off duty’ for the summer!”
After Mary Jo’s brief presentation, there will be time a question and answer time, and light refreshments will be served. No registration is necessary.
Callie and Mary Jo will also be at the library 2-3 p.m. every Wednesday afternoon throughout the rest of June and July to interact with readers of all ages. Look for them in the adult reading area! Call the library at 245-2570 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
