Ever wanted to try your hand at growing herbs? Don’t have much space for a garden? Hate fighting the heat and mosquitos? No green thumbs are needed for the McPherson Public Library’s Herb Container Garden Make & Take event.
Stop by the library between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 19th to plant containers of herbs. You will leave with a small garden of herbs as well as suggestions and recipes for their use.
“Herb containers are one of the most satisfying gardening projects”, says Jennie Hall, Head of Adult Services. “They can be kept in a kitchen window, watered occasionally, and harvested almost daily. It’s instant gratification for impatient and lazy gardeners like me!”
The event is free and open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Anyone planning to attend should RSVP to the library by June 17th. Call 245-2570 or email them at [email protected] for more information about this event and others in the library’s “Spark a Reaction” adult summer reading program.
