MULVANE — The McPherson U-10 Lady Express took second place this past weekend in the Mulvane Tie-Dye Summerfest Tournament.

McPherson went 4-2 on the weekend. A summary:

• Express 5, Hambelton Hotshots 2 — Brette Doile held the Hotshots in check to pick up the win on the mound. She also had a hit, as did Cameron Pelzel, Madi Tolle, Sophia Herrera and Gracie Kidd. Tolle’s double was the only extra-base knock.

• Express 10, Lil Arrows 4 — Hailey Henson earned the win in relief after Olivia Morgan started. The Express walked to the win, as it triumphed despite collecting just one hit, that by Henson.

• Iron Maidens 3, Express 0 — Reiley Wells’ double was the lone McPherson hit. Henson pitched well to take the loss, with Doile getting the final two outs.

• Express 3, Impact 0 — Henson was dealing, twirling a one-hitter and whiffing nine in an overpowering performance. Doile slapped out two hits to lead the way.

• Express 9, SWAT 3 — Morgan took her turn on the mound and pitched solidly. Henson sealed the deal in relief. Pelzel and Kidd smacked doubles.

• Iron Maidens 9, Express 0 — McPherson never did have an answer for the Maidens, who went undefeated. Henson took the loss and also had the team’s only hit.
