The deadline to enter the 31st annual McPherson City Golf Tournament is 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Registration can be completed at the Turkey Creek Clubhouse.

The event is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the first day at McPherson Country Club, the second day at Rolling Acres with the final round at Turkey Creek.

New this year is a Seniors Division, provided enough interest is shown. At this point entries are lagging. Tournament officials say it will offer the division provided there are 10 two-man teams or 20 individuals. This is for golfers 65 and older and front tees will be played at the courses. In the team event, both golfers must be 65 or older.

For the under-65 golfers, individual and two-man play will again be offered with the first 34 paid teams or 68 players accepted. Golfers are urged to play in both divisions, but if they want to compete only in the individual or only in the team, they can do so.

It is $25 to compete in the individual, $25 per man for the team and $80 total as each course gets $30 for serving as hosts.

On Friday at MCC, golfers may play anytime after 9 a.m. as they get their own groups. Saturday’s play will have shotgun starts at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and golfers must indicate which time they want to play. Sunday will be assigned tee times, as all golfers start on No. 1, with the top players going off last. The starting time for Sunday will be announced later.

Only cash and check entries will be accepted, no credit cards please.
