LINDSBORG — Standout Colby Community College transfer Halsie Large has joined the Bethany College track and field team for the upcoming school year.

Large, from Hayes Center, Neb., was first in the Jayhawk Conference in the indoor pentathlon, second in the region in the indoor pentathlon and earned first-team honors in the indoor pentathlon. She is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

"We are incredibly excited to welcome Halsie to the Bethany College track and field family,” Bethany coach Ken Ciolek said. "Halsie is an extremely gifted athlete who will not only make an immediate impact in the KCAC, but on the national level as well. Halsie is a very raw talent with a very bright future ahead of her in the combined events. I truly believe that she will make a very big impact during her time here at Bethany College not only on the track, but in the classroom and community as well."

Large is the daughter of Kevin and Sandra Large. She plans to major in psychology.
