McPherson’s U-15 baseball team played six games in three days recently.

Here’s a summary:

• McPherson 4, Mudcreek 1 — Casen Hoover was dealing on the mound, firing a nifty one-hitter. He helped his own cause by driving in two runs. The only other hits were by Jack Reifschneider, Mikey Saverino and Paxton Leaf.

• Great Bend 16s 10, McPherson 7 — Five separate McPherson batters had one hit. Hoover, Raine Reitsma and Tyler Miller were credited with an RBI.

• Salina Hawks 16s 9, McPherson 2 — Again stepping up in age, McPherson was held in check though Reifschneider picked up two hits.

• McPherson 10, Salina Hawks 16s 9 — Leaf came up with the game-winning hit to score Hoover after a nice bunt by Tyler Wheat. It was quite an at-bat for Leaf, as he fouled off nine pitches before delivering the hit. Hoover had three hits and Alex Sitts added two. Reifschneider closed it out in relief with a pair of strikeouts.

McPherson played two games Tuesday against the Salina Hawks and lost 17-9 and 6-2. No individual game information was reported.
