LINDSBORG — Salina Central’s Noah Smucker has signed to play soccer and compete in track and field for Bethany College next season.

Smucker was a defender on the soccer team for four years, and a sprinter and jumper on the track and field team for three years.

He was second-team All-State as a defender and also earned AVCTL honors. In track and field, he twice qualified for state.

"We are excited with the addition of Noah," Bethany track and field coach Ken Ciolek said.  "He is an outstanding hurdler and jumper and will make an immediate impact for us. His outstanding athletic ability is shown with the contribution that he makes on the soccer pitch as well. Bethany athletics added a great student-athlete to the family today."

"We are very excited to have Noah joining our team and college," men’s soccer coach Shane Taylor said. "He is a multi-talented young man and we know he will make a positive impact on and off the field."

Smucker is the son of Pete and Tracie Smucker. He has a 3.5 high school grade point average and plans to study art education.
