LINDSBORG — The never-ending stockpiling of talent continues for Bethany College men’s basketball coach Clair Oleen.

Ulysses’ Garrett Walters is the latest high school graduate to join the Swedes’ fold.

He is a 5-10 point guard who is known for his leadership as he was Ulysses’ point guard as well as its quarterback in football.

Walters averaged seven points per game and four rebounds, earning All-League honorable mention honors. He shot 45 percent from the field and 84 percent from the line, while dishing off for three assists per game.

"We are pleased to have Garrett Walters attend Bethany College to be a part of our athletic training academic program and Bethany basketball," Oleen said. "Garrett is a hard worker who will redshirt his freshman year as he adjusts to college and develops as a college basketball player."

Walters is the son of Rhona Walters. He plans to major in athletic training.
