Nine is fine for Treg Fawl.

Fawl won his fourth straight McPherson City Golf Tournament title Sunday at stormy Turkey Creek and in three of those victories the margin has been nine.

Fawl shot a 1-over-par 71 Sunday to finish at 216 as he had shot previous rounds of 77 at McPherson Country Club and 68 at Rolling Acres.

It was his fifth singles title overall. For the second year in a row, Jamie Piper was the best of the rest as he finished with a 225, while former two-time champion Nick Ikenberry was third with 230.

The team champion also was a repeat as Fawl and his father, Tony, shot a second straight 68 Sunday and finished at 208, with Piper and Monty Koehn second with 216.

The Fawls now have won four team titles overall.

Treg Fawl now has nine total championships as he continues his relentless pursuit of the 20 won by Ray Hague from 1985 to 2007.
