LINDSBORG — Bethany College women’s basketball coach Brett Morehouse has added some size to his front line.
Erin O'Connor, a 6-2 center, has signed a letter of intent to play for the Swedes.
O’Connor played varsity basketball for four years and soccer for three at Middle Park High School in Granby, Colo. She averaged 12 points per game, 8.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists as a senior. She also had 80 blocks, 75 steals while shooting 56 percent from the field.
She was second-team All-Conference in 2013. She improved the next year and was named first-team All-Conference in 2014, and was an Academic All-State Honorable Mention as well.
"We couldn't be more excited about the signing of Erin O'Connor. She is another great find for us from the state of Colorado," Morehouse said. "Erin will provide us with something we really didn't have last season and that is a true presence in the post. In addition to her size and length, she is athletic enough to be a threat for us in transition while also having the ability to step out and shoot a little bit from the perimeter. Erin put up very good numbers during her senior season, but what's most impressive is her desire to improve her skills and her knowledge of the game."
She is the daughter of Simon and Candice O'Connor. She plans to study psychology while at Bethany College.
