Fireworks regulations for different jurisdictions in McPherson County

CITY OF MCPHERSON: Fireworks may be sold July 2nd through July 4th from 10am to 10:30pm. Fireworks may be discharged July 2nd through July 3rd, 10am to 10:30pm, and on July 4th from 10am to midnight on PRIVATE PROPERTY ONLY. Discharging fireworks in the downtown area and on city streets is prohibited. Free floating Sky Lanterns, bottle rockets, and metal sparklers are prohibited.

CITY OF CANTON: Fireworks may be sold June 27th through July 5th. Fireworks may be discharged from 8am to 11pm July 3rd through July 5th. Discharging fireworks on public property, including city streets, is prohibited. No bottle rockets or other self propelled items.

CITY OF GALVA: Fireworks may be discharged July 1st through July 5th, 8am to midnight.

CITY OF INMAN: Fireworks may be discharged from 9am to 11pm on July 1st through July 5th. Fireworks may not be discharged at the Inman City Park, but the country park or city pastures is ok.

CITY OF LINDSBORG: Fireworks may be discharged ONLY on July 4th, from 8am to midnight. No bottle rockets or floating lanterns. Private property only (not in the street). ***Information only: The Alstadt's Fireworks stand at Coronado Ave and Lincoln St and the other stand near K4 and Coronado Ave are on the county side of Coronado Ave (Burma Rd) and are not covered by the city's ordinance.

CITY OF MARQUETTE: There is no city ordinance on fireworks, state statutes still apply.

CITY OF MOUNDRIDGE: Fireworks may be sold from June 27th through July 5th. Fireworks may be discharged from July 2nd through July 5th from 8am until 11pm, except on July 4th from 8am to midnight. Fireworks may not be discharged in the street.

CITY OF WINDOM: Fireworks may be discharged from June 29th through July 7th, from 8am to midnight. No bottle rockets.

MCPHERSON COUNTY: Fireworks may be discharged on private property only. There are no county ordinances pertaining to date or time. State statutes still apply.

STATE STATUTES: Fire works may be sold only between June 27th and July 5th. No bottle rockets. Fireworks shall not be discharged within 1000 feet of a nursing home, hospital, or school; into, under, or onto a car, whether moving or not; on any street or roadway, right of way next to a street or roadway, or public property; or within 50 feet of a fireworks stand, or within 50 feet of a gas/fuel station.
