MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Magan Alexander and Megan Pedersen, juniors-to-be at McPherson High, will go into the upcoming volleyball season already with a championship to their credit.
Alexander and Pedersen were members of the Heartland Crossfire volleyball team that took first place in the Girls National 16 Tournament that was completed on Thursday.
Heartland Crossfire, coached by Amy Ratzlaff, emerged from a field of 72 teams. It played a team from Hawaii in the championship match, winning in straight games.
Alexander and Pedersen are expected to be mainstays for a Bullpup team that won a state championship in 2012 and was ranked No. 1 for much of the season in 2013 before being ousted at the state tournament during pool play.
