Sprinter Borchard joins BC thinclads

LINDSBORG — Transfer Erin Borchard has become the latest addition to the Bethany College track and field team.

Borchard, from Colorado Springs, joins Bethany after attending Pikes Peak Community College and Mesa Ridge High School. While in high school, Borchard ran the 100, 200, the first leg of the 4 x 100 in 2009 and anchor in 2011, and the first leg of the 4 x 200 in 2009 and anchor in 2012.

She also was a member of the National Honor Society, Marching Band, Color Guard and Winter Guard. She graduated in the Top 15 percent of her class, earning letters for four years in track and field and three years in band.

"We are very excited and happy to welcome Erin to the Bethany family,”Bethany coach Ken Ciolek said. "Erin is a very talented sprinter who will add depth to our short sprints and relays. Her work ethic both in the classroom and on the track fits our program extremely well, and we could not be more excited to welcome her to Swede Nation.”

She is the daughter of Michael and Clara Borchard. She plans to major in criminal justice.
