A Salina woman was involved in a crash just south of the Elyria exit off of I-135 Saturday at noon. According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2002 Honda Civic driven by 45 year old Lori A Schmidt of Salina was southbound on I135 when Schmidt dozed off. Her vehicle then struck the guardrail on the east side of the roadway, bounced off the guardrail and then struck the guardrail on west side. The vehicle then came to rest in the center of both lanes of southbound I135. Schmidt was taken to Newton Medical Center for her injuries, and was wearing her seatbelt.
