An accident in Sedgwick County early Sunday morning sent two McPherson County residents to the hospital in Wichita.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, both vehicles were driving north on I-135 at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday, just south of 101st Street North, when 25 year old Johnathan Crouse driving a 2002 Ford PC didn't realize how slowly the 1930 Ford Model A driven by 20 year old David Frazer of Moundridge was traveling with passenger 35 year old Laura Arnold of McPherson.

Crouse swerved to miss the Model A and struck it in the drivers side rear. The Ford PC went off the roadway to the right and struck a light pole. The Model A rolled and both occupants were ejected. All three involved in the accident were taken to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita for treatment. Only Crouse was listed by the KHP as wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. However, seat belts were not standard equipment in a vehicle the age of the Model A involved in the wreck.
