LINDSBORG — Bethany College men’s soccer coach Shane Taylor reached deep into the heart of Texas for his latest signing.

Nijee Cooper of Wylie, Texas, has agreed to terms with the Swedes by signing a recent letter of intent.

Cooper, an outside-mid and center-mid, prepped at Wylie East High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete. He was a soccer captain and also participated in cross country, track, volleyball, lacrosse, football as a kicker and band.

He achieved several soccer honors throughout his high school career: first-team All-District, second-team All-District, All-District Defensive MVP, district champion and bi-district champion. He was also an All-District cross country runner as well as an outstanding trumpet soloist.

"We are excited to have Nijee joining our men's soccer program and college," Taylor said. "His track record speaks for itself and we are delighted to have a student-athlete of his caliber contributing to Bethany's future."

He is the son of Kimberly Cooper and plans to major in engineering.
