Dodge City is Post 24's opponent today

LEAVENWORTH — Dodge City is McPherson’s opponent this morning in an elimination game at the Class A American Legion State Baseball Tournament.

The game starts at 10 a.m., with the winner playing at 12:30 p.m. Friday, while the loser is done for the season. McPherson, 22-7, is expected to start Micah McCulley on the mound.

McPherson lost 8-3 to Andover Wednesday in the opening round after carrying a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning. Dodge City was doubled 10-5 by the Salina Eagles.

In other games, Doniphan County clipped Manhattan 11-10 in eight innings, while tourney host Leavenworth lost 9-4 to Paola.

Manhattan and Leavenworth are playing today’s 12:30 p.m. elimination game. The evening session matches the Salina Eagles against Andover at 6 p.m., with Doniphan County taking on Paola at 8:30.
