The McPherson County Humane Society posted on Facebook Wednesday afternoon that they received a call from someone in Galva that has a mother and five kittens under her trailer and she wants us to pick them up because she states "they aren't mine." The Humane Society has been inundated with calls daily from people wanting to "get rid of a dog" or "get rid of a cat" as well as trying to help with the abundant stray population. It's mind boggling and exhausting.
This summer alone, the Humane Society took three litters from three separate families where the kittens were a product of the family pet.
The time to call for help is before the cat is pregnant not after it has delivered seven kittens.
There are fix a cat vouchers available for residents in the City of McPherson. For more information, call the Humane Society at (620) 241-3682.
