LINDSBORG —  Bethany College baseball coach Andrew Bartman has added a couple of late signees, both from California.

They are Nathan Wallen of Stockton and Brandt Fees of Tulare.

• Nathan Wallen — Wallen is an infielder who played four years of high school ball for Cesar Chavez High School. He also played a year of football at cornerback.

"I am extremely excited to bring Nathan Wallen into the Swede baseball family. Nathan is going to be a strong bat for us and have the ability to move around the field to keep that bat in the lineup," Bartman said. "He has the 'bones' of a great swing and is only going to get better with reps and a strong work ethic. His work ethic in the classroom is outstanding as well, and is staying right in line with us bringing in a class of quality student-athletes. Nathan will really push for time right away as a freshman, and should create some great competition in our infield as well as outfield."

Wallen is the son of Chris and Row Wallen. He plans to major in athletic training.

• Brandt Fees — A pitcher, Fees comes to Bethany from Central Valley Christian School in Visalia, Calif. He was on the varsity baseball team from 2012-2014, playing pitcher and outfield. In 2011, Fees was a pitcher and outfielder on the junior varsity baseball team, and was also a linebacker and wide receiver on the junior varsity football team.

"Brandt comes to us from California and I have already seen improvement in him from last year to this current year," Bartman said. "Brandt's strong work ethic and room to grow physically lead me to believe that he will have a lot of success with the Swedes."

Fees is the son of Debi and Kevin Fees. He plays to major in graphic design.
