Sunday afternoon accident injures three just south of McPherson

A Sunday afternoon accident at the K-61 and I-135 junction near McPherson sent three people to the hospital and one of them was airlifted to Wichita.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, 61 year old Edward Chester of Los Lunas, New Mexico was driving a 2008 Ford passenger vehicle north on K-61 at about 2:05 Sunday afternoon when he attempted to turn onto I-135. Chester missed the turn and his vehicle left the road and went into a field.

He and a passenger, 29 year old David Chester, were taken to McPherson Hospital. Another passenger, 11 year old Ashton Chester, was airlifted to Via Christi Hospital at St. Francis in Wichita.

All involved in the accident were buckled up.
