Outgoing McPherson City Physician Dr. James Prescott was honored at Monday's McPherson City Commission meeting for his twelve years of service with the City.

McPherson Fire Chief Jeff Deal said of Prescott, "I came to this community about four years ago about the same time of year as we do our annual physicals. I got to meet Dr. Prescott at that point. I was so impressed with his professionalism and the way he truly cared for us. As the new guy in town, I need a doctor, that's my man. That was an easy deal for me. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Dr. Prescott on a professional level, having him take care of my guys, but also on a personal level. He will sorely be missed."

Dr. Prescott said, "To me, I should be thanking these guys from the City. As you know, May 17th, 2012, because of their professionalism and quick response of these individuals and the staff they oversee, I am here today after suffering a heart attack."

Dr. Prescott has agreed to serve the City in a backup role until a suitable replacement can be hired.
