2014 McPherson American Legion Class A State champions from left to right: Jack Reifschneider, Marcus McDaniel, Caleb Schmidt, Casen Hoover, head coach Tony Schmidt, Micah McCulley, Cody Starkel, Jacob Loecker, Trent Olson, assistant coach Scott Graham, Brodie Burney, Kolby Reed, Ryan Eilts and Alex Sitts.

The McPherson American Legion Post 24 state championship baseball season could not have been possible without a number of contributors.

Midway Motors provided the van for transportation for the team, while the 4-H provided concessions for the home games.

Post 24 captured the Class A state championship this year in Leavenworth, becoming the first team in the 33 years of the tournament to lose in the first round, only to come back through and win six straight games.

The team will be honored Thursday night at the American Legion as part of the "Night of Champions." The 1954 and 1975 state championship teams will be honored as well. The evening begins at 6 p.m. and all former players are invited, with Post 24 providing the meal and the Post 24 Auxiliary providing the dessert.

The Grand Slam sponsors, who generously donated at least $200 toward the program this year, included:
