The McPherson Public Library is starting a new afterschool club for kids this fall: Bedtime Math’s Crazy 8s. The program for children in Kindergarten through second grade is on Thursdays from September 4 through October 23 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The program for kids in third through fifth grade begins on September 2 and runs through October 21, also from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This math club involves more than crunching numbers, as typical activities will include Glow-in-the-Dark Geometry, Bouncy Dice, and Toilet Paper Olympics.
“We are very excited about this amazing program that makes math fun,” said Children’s Librarian Mandy Martin. “Kids will have a great time with Spy Training and an entire program full of flying marshmallows.”
The Crazy 8s Math Club is part of the library’s STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math) initiative. Anyone with questions about this or any other children’s programs may contact the children’s department at 245-2570 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
