HUTCHINSON — Hutchinson Community College dominated Bethany College’s junior varsity from the get-go Thursday night, as the Blue Dragons hammered the Swedes 45-7 in a game that counted toward HCC’s regular-season record.
Hutch piled up a 24-0 halftime lead and exploded for 21 more points in the third quarter.
The Blue Dragons ran the ball at will, led by Alvin Kamara, who totaled 111 yards on 14 carries. Hutch had 305 yards rushing and also was effective through the air.
Bethany’s only score came on a TD pass from Bo Savage to Tommy Alexander midway through the fourth quarter. Nathaniel Ocran was Bethany’s top rusher with 32 yards on 18 carries. The Swedes did use some of their potential starters in the game.
