WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — McPherson College’s volleyball team didn’t journey all the way to Florida just to lose.

The Bulldogs went 2-0 in matches in the Palm Beach County Volleyballfest on Friday to move to 3-0 on the year.

Mac won both matches in straight sets. It defeated Ava Maria University 25-23, 25-14 and 25-23 before dispatching Edwards Waters in overwhelming fashion, 25-14, 25-11 and 25-20.

Three Bulldogs shared the kill lead with eight — Renee Fredrickson, Taryn Lee and Cortlyne Huppe. Phoebe Barton totaled 24 assists, while Taylor Johnson added 13. Emily Warner was far and away the dig leader with 24.

No statistics were available for the match against Edward Waters.

Mac is expected to step up in competition today, taking on Concordia College of Alabama and Northwood University of Florida.
