Are you ready for some fall sports?

Apparently McPherson fans are.

An enthusiastic crowd that swelled to more than 1,000 populated the McPherson Stadium stands Friday for the annual Fall Sports Preview.

All MHS and McPherson Middle School teams and coaches were loquaciously introduced, and football, soccer and volleyball scrimmages highlighted the evening.

Perhaps most importantly, more than 300 of the fans on hand test drove vehicles in the Midway Motors-Ford “Drive One 4UR School” event, which means the MHS athletic department will see its coffers swelled by id="mce_marker"2,000. MHS Athletic Director Shane Backhus said Bullpup Nation should be commended for turning out and helping the school achieve this lofty goal.

The first MHS sporting event of the year is today as the Bullpup volleyball team is playing in the AVCTL Preseason Challenge in Hutchinson. The girls tennis team was to have opened Thursday at Hesston, but was rained out.
