OMAHA, Neb. — Central Christian College’s home volleyball success didn’t translate to the road Saturday.

CCC, coming off an impressive sweep of county rival Bethany College earlier in the week, lost a pair of four-setters in a triangular.

The Lady Tigers opened with host school Grace University, with the lone set victory coming in No. 2, 27-25.

Brittany Bergstrom led in kills with seven. Ciara Costello was tops in digs with 19 and Hannah Crandall did a nice job of running the offense with 26 assists, while also serving up four aces.

The second set also was good to the Lady Tigers in their second match against Presentation College of South Dakota, as they were a 25-21 winner. But Presentation won the other three sets handily.

Mayuko Shono led CCC in kills with nine, one more than Bergstrom. Costello and Kasi Krause hustled to 35 and 28 digs, respectively, while Crandall had another impressive assist total with 32.

The Lady Tigers have most of the week off, as they return to the court Friday in Bethany, Okla., when they play Southwestern Christian College. The next day it’s on to Dallas to play Dallas Christian College and St. Thomas of Houston.
