Wildcats take 2nd in Inman volleyball tourney

INMAN — Sedgwick outlasted Moundridge in a thrilling three-set match Saturday to win the championship of the annual Inman Invitational Volleyball Tournament.

The Wildcats had gone 3-0 in pool play and defeated arch-rival Inman in straight sets to advance to the finals. The Teutons then defeated Remington to take third place.

Moundridge won the first set against Sedgwick in the finals 25-21, but the Cardinals charged back for 25-13 and 25-19 wins.

Rylie Dick led the Wildcats with 23 kills on the day, one more than Anna Stucky and Michelle Schrag. Elizabeth Ratzlaff totaled 41 assists and Peri Lange added 37. Schrag led in digs with 33 and Emily Knight had a hot serving hand with 12 aces. Rylie Dick’s four blocks were tops, one more than Anna Stucky.

Inman had gone 2-1 in its pool, with wins over Fairfield and Cunningham, while the loss was to Sedgwick.
