HESSTON — McPherson High’s No. 1-ranked Class 4A girls tennis team rolled to another victory on Monday, taking first in the Hesston Invitational that had been rained out Aug. 28.
The Bullpups scored 30 points to easily outdistance Hesston, which scored 22. Other totals were Maize South (19), Abilene (11), a combined team of extras (10), Wichita Trinity (9), Smoky Valley (8) and Buhler (7).
The No. 1 doubles team of Camry Holle and Emily Ediger went 3-0 for first place, while Maisie Edmonson and Cassidy Corrigan were 2-1 for fifth. In No. 2 doubles, Madison Hoffman and Riley Burhart won all three of their matches for first place.
Ellea Ediger was 2-1 for second at No. 1 singles, while Katlyn Reifschneider was 1-2 for fourth. Rachel Ivers won the No. 2 singles division with a 3-0 record.
Hesston and Smoky Valley results were not reported.
The Bullpups play Saturday at Salina Central.
