WICHITA – Sarah Henderson may soon want to retire the KCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor.
For the second straight week, Henderson’s glittering performance was too much for voters to overlook as she repeated last week’s honor.
The sophomore from Lake Forest, Calif., scored all three Swede goals in a 3-1 victory over the University of Dallas.
Henderson ranks third in the nation in goals scored (8) and in total points (18). She also ranks fifth in goals per game (2). She is seventh in points per game (4.6) and she has both of the Swedes’ game-winning goals. Henderson is also 15th in game-winning goals per game (0.5), 16th in shots per game (5.25) and 25th in shots on goal per game (3.25).
"Every forward’s goal for a game is a hat-trick. But to have two of them already this season is amazing," Bethany coach Sean McMannis said. "Sarah's explosiveness to finish anywhere on the field and have the awareness to get others involved makes her one special player."
Henderson already has surpassed her goal total of last season (7) when she was named KCAC Freshman of the Year.
The Swedes return to action on Friday at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
