MHS JV netters dominate the field

The season-long competition on the girls varsity tennis team has only strengthened the McPherson High junior varsity as evidenced by Tuesday’s performance in the Bullpup JV Invitational.

MHS lost only one match on the day and ran away with the team championship with 29 points. Andover was second with 23 and Hutchinson was third with 16. There were seven teams in all.

MHS won both doubles divisions, with Ashley Venable and Caroline May winning No. 1, and Heidi Myers and Madison Schmidt winning No. 2. Both teams won all three matches.

Maisie Edmonson won all three matches as well to rule at No. 1 singles. Shelby Gudenkauf was 3-1 for third place at No. 2.
