HESSTON — McPherson High’s cross country team showed improvement during Thursday’s Hesston Invitational, which was broken up into classes.

“The kids ran really well,” MHS coach Gentry Nixon said. “The weather was amazing and the runners responded accordingly with 14 personal bests and nine season bests. We also brought home three medals and had several runners who just missed getting a medal. It was a good day.”

The best performance for the Bullpups came from Christina Wankum, who was fifth in the Junior Girls Division. Tyler Timson was 19th in the Freshman Boys Division.

The Bullpups go to Buhler on Thursday.
