McPherson College’s men’s soccer team is starting to settle in.
Since its sluggish 0-2 start, Mac has been dominant in its last three matches, including Saturday’s 3-0 blanking of Mount Marty, which could have been much worse.
The Bulldogs peppered the Mount Marty defense for 32 shots, while the Mac defense pitched its third straight shutout.
Goals were by Nick Torres, Tito Ruiz and Kevin Aka. Morgan Quintana was credited with an assist.
Alex Ronnburg and Oscar Cortez actually were the Mac leaders in shots with 10 apiece, though neither found the net. Mac’s defense was led by the backline of Quintana, Leonel Martinez, Danny Cajella and Dinesh Prasad.
“We were really good defensively again today,” Mac coach Doug Quint said. "It's nice to get a third straight shutout. Our offense dictated the game for us as we had a lot of possessions, which created multiple chances."
The Bulldogs load up for a trip West, playing Westminster College on Friday and University of Great Falls on Sunday.
