GOESSEL — Canton-Galva volleyball coach Jenny Loyd is hoping her team is turning the corner.

The Eagles showed flashes during Saturday’s Goessel Invitational, going 1-3 on the day, with the win coming against Burrton (25-13, 25-16). C-G lost in straight sets to Sedgwick and Central Christian, and in three against Wichita Independent.

“We had ups and downs during the day, but turned in our best volleyball of the season during our second match of the day against Wichita Independent,” Loyd said. “It was exciting to see our progress from the week before, and what we are capable of when we put it all together and play as one unit. Hopefully we can pick up where we left off Saturday, continually striving for a higher level of volleyball each time we take the court.”
