BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Oklahoma Wesleyan will be in the KCAC next year, but Bethany College’s soccer teams got a chance to play the Eagles in nonconference play on Wednesday, losing both.

• Oklahoma Wesleyan women 5, Bethany 3 — All-American candidate Sarah Henderson scored the Swedes’ first goal, which at the time cut into a 3-0 Eagle lead. She added yet another goal to continue on her hot streak, but by then the Eagles had reached their five goals. Mariana Cerenio-Jordan scored the third Bethany goal, assisted by Henderson.

“It was another slow start by the Swedes tonight," Bethany coach Sean McMannis said. "Going down 2-0 in the first five minutes put on chasing the game. Looking for a spark, Henderson scored two and assisted one, but the effort was too late. We are still looking to connect and find that drive."

Bethany, 2-5, is at MidAmerica Nazarene on Saturday.

• Oklahoma Wesleyan men 3, Bethany 0 — The Eagles have a high-powered program and the Swedes could get little going, being outshot 22-4.

“Oklahoma Wesleyan is a quality team,” Bethany coach Shane Taylor said. "We worked hard for 90 minutes, but a few mistakes cost us the game. Gabriel Goncalves played well. Kayo Vaz made a few huge saves for us and continues to have a great season."

Bethany is now 1-4 on the year and plays a rare Sunday game at Baker.
