BENNINGTON — Inman’s Caleb Renner continues to rank among the better cross country runners in Class 2A.
Renner took third place Thursday in the Bennington Invitational in a time of 18:21.
“Caleb Renner once again had another great showing,” Inman coach Jay Parsons said. “I think the meet at Hesston, running against all six classes, helped Caleb figure out what he is capable of doing, which showed itself in his efforts at this meet. His times are becoming more consistent.”
Other finishers for the Teuton boys were Tobias Belknap (17th in 21:03), Connor Sivils (56th in 25:47) and Max Harman (59th in 26:48).
For the girls, finishers were MaKayla Michael (26th in 21:44), Kaylee Bauman (29th in 22:32), Kirstin DeVore (37th in 24:59) and Megan Potter (44th in 27:01).
“I think each of the runners is getting closer to figuring out how to run the race,” Parsons said of his first-year program. “Now that we are almost halfway through our season, we need to become more consistent in the time we run.”
Inman goes to Marion on Tuesday.
