WICHITA — KCAC volleyball co-leader Friends University took a break from conference play on Saturday by polishing off Central Christian College in straight sets.
The Falcons came away with 25-17, 25-12, 25-15 decisions to drop the Lady Tigers to 4-9 on the year.
Mayuko Shono topped CCC with six kills, while Hannah Crandall led in assists with 19. Ciara Costello hustled her way to 15 digs, while Crandall and Kasi Kraus added 11 apiece.
"Defensively we did a lot of good things,” CCC coach Christina Ludwick said. "The girls have bought in to our new system and have started stepping up where we need them. Unfortunately we are still working out kinks in our offense. It's the biggest thing holding us back."
The Lady Tigers go to York, Neb., this weekend for a quad that also includes Peru State and Bethel. CCC and York play on Friday, then the Lady Tigers play Peru State and Bethel on Saturday.
