Official headcount numbers released this week by Bethany College show the college is experiencing its largest enrollment in the past 20 years as well as the best fall to fall student retention in over a decade. The 20th Day Enrollment Report, used for official reporting purposes, has enrollment at 717 for the 2014 fall semester.
The successful retention rate coupled with the largest freshman class in 17 years, at 188, were factors in the increased enrollment.
“This enrollment represents the largest two-year growth for the college in 20 years and if you look at the enrollment over the past seven years, it’s the largest growth in 40 years,” Bethany College President Edward F. Leonard III said.
Bethany’s student population is widely diverse. Students represent 31 states, 31 countries and come from every continent except Antarctica.
