MARION — Inman cross country runner Caleb Renner continues to be a force.
Renner took second place Tuesday in the Marion Invitational.
“Caleb continues to run well,” Inman coach Jay Parsons said. “He is becoming more and more consistent in his times for 5K.”
Parsons also was pleased with Tobias Belknap, who was 20th in 20:45. “Tobias’ time is within one minute of his best time this season,” Parsons said. “If he runs the next few races with more consistent times, he will develop into a competitive runner.”
Also for the Teutons, Connor Silvils was 47th in 22:51 and Max Harman was 58th in 27:11.
“I think the boys all ran very well,” Parsons said. “They just need to continue to in the work they have been doing up to this point in the season.”
The Teuton girls fielded a full team for the first time this season. Placers were MaKayla Michael (29th in 19:36), Taryn Glenn (34th in 19:59), Kaylee Bauman (37th in 20:53), Kirstin DeVore (43rd in 23:36) and Megan Potter (44th in 25:19).
“I hope they realize that now that they have a team to run for they will find a way to run as a bunch and move closer to the front,” Parsons said.
The Teutons’ next gig is Oct. 2 at Berean Academy.
