SHAWNEE, Okla. – Bethany College’s golf team moved up two spots during the second and final day of the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational Tuesday to finish in second place.
Team host Oklahoma Baptist, led by medalist Zach Oliver with 72-64-136, won the title with a 584, with Bethany second with 593. Bethany’s B-team took 10th and there were 14 teams in the field.
Swede All-American Ben Johnson was a model of consistency with rounds of 72-72-144, which tied him for second place. One shot back with 71-74-145 was the Swedes’ Jose Acevedo.
The Swedes’ Scott Farrall tied for 12th with a 149, which included a second-day 73. Other Swede scores were Olly Rubenstein (81-75-156) and Josef Loughlin (85-74-159).
Bethany B-team entry Lewis Blair actually tied for 16th with 73-78-151. Other B-scores were Juan Pablo Sin (75-82-157), Greg Miller (77-82-159), Matt O’Neill (84-77-161) and Josh Meeks (83-78-161).
Bethany will be back in action on Sept. 29-30 as when it takes part in the Mid-South Classic held at the Sand Creek in Newton.
