Mac's Cross claims Tabor cross country title

MARION RESERVOIR – McPherson College’s Savana Cross captured the championship of the Tabor College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

Cross ran a 20:02.22 for a 5-second victory over Tabor’s Hannah Holmes.

Other times that counted for the Mac women were Laura Gibson (8th in 20:41.38). Miranda Clark Ulrich (29th in 22:16.78), Heidi Lyne (32nd 22:33.10) and Lauren Wankum (46th in 25:33.01). Erika Doty (49th in 26:18.29), Kayla Faust (55th in 27:03.20) and Sierra Ulrich (61st in 29:39.62) also competed.

Behind Cross, the Bulldogs were fourth behind Friends, Dodge City and Sterling.

The Mac men took second behind Friends, losing just 52-48.

Dixon Clooney led the Bulldogs in 28:06.05, which was good for eighth place. Other times that counted for the Bulldogs were Chris Le (11th in 28:13.68), Kurt Katzdorn (13th in 28:35.61), Chris Newell (14th in 28:45.35) and Michael Janzer (16th in 28:59.49). 

 Other Mac times were Jordan Bost (32nd in 30:27.32), Jonathan Dominguez (37th in 31:14.77), David Friesen (54th in 33:20.30), Karl Timmerman (68th in 38:36.82) and Donald Bell (43:11.03).

Mac is at Lawrence’s Rim Rock Farm on Oct. 11.
