MEDICINE LODGE — McPherson lost a combined seventh-eighth-grade football game 30-16 on Monday to Medicine Lodge.

The majority of the McPherson players were seventh-graders and Medicine Lodge had more eighth-graders.

Landon Frantz rushed for 83 yards and scored a touchdown for the Bullpups, while Kaleb Hoppes added 31 yards. Tyson Gottwald was 7 of 19 for 109 yards and a touchdown, that going to Hoppes, as he finished with four catches for 76 yards.

MMS coach Nick Griggs said the Bullpups played a strong first half and the game was tied near the end of the third quarter before Medicine Lodge scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns for the win.

MMS plays Thursday at Pratt.
