It was expected to be the toughest challenge to date for the McPherson ninth-grade football team.
Rose Hill came to town Monday afternoon armed with an undefeated record and had high hopes of handing the Bullpups their first loss in two years.
But the Bullpups rose to the challenge by swamping the Rockets 42-0 to improve to 4-0.
MHS scored 24 points in the second quarter to build its lead to 30-0, then tacked on two more third-quarter TDs.
Wyatt Seidl scored on a 32-yard run and caught a 25-yard pass from Mason Alexander, who also threw a TD strike of 29 yards to Brian Puhalla.
Also scoring TDs were Austen Hunt (26-yard run), Andrew Powell (6-yard run) and Michael Mendez (16-yard run).
Seidl, Mason Alexander and Jayse Alexander all scored 2-point conversions.
The defense played lights-out as the Rockets never threatened.
MHS plays Monday at El Dorado, the first of four straight road games.
