MHS spikers climb to No. 3

McPherson High’s volleyball team, coming off the championship of the Newton Invitational last weekend and winners of 20 straight matches, has climbed to No. 3 in Class 4A Division I, according to rankings released late Wednesday by the Kansas Volleyball Association.

The Bullpups trail only defending champion Miege and Topeka Hayden.

Louisburg and Basehor-Linwood round out the Top 5.

Completing the Top 10 are DeSoto, Abilene, Wamego, Andale and Ulysses.

In Class 3A, Hesston remains at No. 3. Hillsboro, which has handed Hesston its only two losses, moved up into this class this week and was immediately positioned in the No 1 spot. Silver Lake, despite a 14-9 record, is ranked No. 2.
